Can’t lose weight - want to get pregnant (PCOS and on GLP-1 + metformin)
I’m 31yo and have been obese my whole life but am very active. I was put on birth control at 15 because I did two rounds of accutane and never came off of it. I finally came off of BC in June 2025. Since June I’ve only had three cycles. My husband and I are trying to get pregnant so this is incredibly frustrating. We both have been working out at a local gym for the last year. It’s usually three days of weights/quick weight focused workouts and two days a week of higher intensity cardio and longer workouts. We’ve completely changed our eating habits too. He’s lost 70lbs meanwhile I gain/lose the same 5-10lb.
Since beginning of February I’ve been taking:
- GLP-1 (tirz)
- 1000mg ER performing
- vitamin b12
- vitamin D
- inosital
- magnesium
- fiber supplements
I track all my food and haven’t eaten over 2000 calories a day in a month. I try to eat 1400-1600 cals/day. I’ve lost 2lbs. I workout every day and walk 6-10k steps as well but nothing budges. Oh and always at least 80oz of water a day.
I just am feeling defeated. I’m doing everything right and yet nothing is working! I’ve read through so many threads and just am curious if I’m missing something. Any tips?? Anyone out there in a similar situation and something else worked? I just feel desperate to get my period back so we can track ovulation and start trying to grow our family.
