Smell:

Straight from the terp kooler there is a sweet subtle funk, and some chem/plastic notes. After warming up ≈25 minutes I smelled toasted marshmallow or toasted coconut maybe? Not sure which. Also something like whipped cream and/or orange creamsicle. Smell was only OK for me, I like strains with a bit more dimension, and bonus points for some funky cheesy tones. Like, please Standard Farms, send me to a Broadway musical based on the lives of Sly Stone and James Brown. 6/10.

400°F pretty subtle flavors; lime, spiced cake, fresh cream, and toasted coconut. Very smooth, no terp tickle, burn, or cough.

420°F the flavor becomes much fuller and robust. Less lime is present and now the baked goods take center stage. More toasty flavors, not at all burnt or bitter tasting. I have sensitive lungs, still no cough.

450°F here comes the funk, I’m starting to get notes of smoked Gouda and a medium stinky Brie. I guess I’m not gonna cough?

Overall flavor was a 7/10. I enjoyed the strain, but when compared to some other SF I have had, it just didn’t completely stack up. In fact it is making me rethink a previous SF Tricho Jordan review because I thought at the time that was a 7/10, but I enjoyed it more than the #4 here, but the Roastmellow isn’t really a 6. Whatever, my math degree taught me that numbers are meaningless anyway. The lime and the funk were too muted for my palate, and there wasn’t enough myrcene to really make the toasty/baked flavors shine. Solid rosin for the price I paid on discount but I wouldn’t pay $60 or even $40 a gram. 7- out of 10.

Setup:

My reviews are done with a 25mm quartz bucket banger through a mini 10mm Kevin Murray traveler rig with a 3 hole perc and distilled H20. I start my sessions with a chocolate covered espresso bean and cleanse my palette with filtered water and a sniff of coffee beans between tastings and temp changes. I clean my banger with a 3 step process (dark crystal > iso > distilled H20) between each tasting. Temperatures reflect the readout on my PID/coil and not the actual temp of vaporization, which is typically 35° - 50° cooler based on multiple averaged IR readings of the quartz in my rig. All hash is stored in a mini fridge and slowly brought to temperature throughout a tasting.
