How do you scale without becoming just another generic SaaS

Been thinking about this a lot lately. I've seen founders nail it early by being super responsive and knowing their customers,. then suddenly they're invisible behind a wall of automation and the whole thing feels corporate. But I don't think you have to choose between scaling and staying personal. I reckon the key is automating the boring stuff (support tickets, onboarding flows, billing reminders) while keeping humans in the loop for actual relationship building. Like, use AI chatbots or Intercom for tier-1 support, but make sure expansion conversations and onboarding calls still happen with real people. Some of the best micro SaaS I've seen have Discord communities or monthly founder AMAs where customers can actually talk to leadership. Doesn't take much time but it makes people feel heard. Also staying vertically focused helps heaps. If you're trying to be everything to everyone you lose the personal angle anyway. But if you're obsessed with solving one specific problem for one specific industry, that expertise naturally feels more human. What's your current bottleneck? Are you losing the personal touch because you're too busy, or because you're not sure which processes to automate?
