A make-up routine that actually works. (Ffs in a bottle)
If you’re tight on money but want makeup close to high-end, this drugstore routine works surprisingly well:
• elf primer
• Maybelline Fit Me / Lumi Matte foundation
• e.l.f. color corrector + contour
• e.l.f. concealer
• Maybelline Fit Me powder
• e.l.f. setting spray
Drugstores often have 2-for-1 deals, so the whole routine is roughly ~$50/month. High-end routines are usually $125–150/month ( call it the FFS subscription). Mascara and lipstick is one category where drugstore performs just as well as high-end.
• huda beauty primer
• has labs triclone
• huda beauty color corrector
• huda beauty concealer
• huda beauty powder
• huda beauty setting spray
•. MAC highlighter
BULK BUY LASHES FROM ALI AND USE BONDING GLUE APPLY ON THE BOTTOM. GIVES U LASH EXTENTION EFFECT EASY!! I always wear lashes
I did testing foundation, full-day wear tests outside (uni, work, errands).
The best foundation I’ve ever used is the Haus Labs Triclone foundation, it gives the most skin-like finish I’ve found.
Application order matters: liquids/creams first → spray→powders. Don’t spray over loose powders or mix layers, it can create texture.
One thing I haven’t found a dupe for is the Huda Beauty loose powder. It’s about $30 but honestly worth it. I’d skip most other dupe hunting.
I’ve tried tons of drugstore products (including drag store brands) before going high-end, and I never went back. Unfortunately the expensive stuff does perform better. For me it also reduces dysphoria a lot and makes me more comfortable going outside.
Hopefully this saves you months of tutorials and testing.
