Do cyclist in PH draft when they do group rides?
I'm fairly new to the cycling scene (I joined about 3 months ago) and I have been geeking up and studying everything about cycling including basic bike maintenance, pedaling techniques, cadence, climbing efficiency, pro-cycling, UCI, etc., and basically every bits of information I can get my hands on regarding cycling.
I recently learned that cycling in groups, like what pros do, dramatically makes them go faster because they can conserve their energy better. They call this drafting.
I have been in a few group rides and during that time, I encountered several groups of riders. Of all the riding groups I have met, including the one I usually join, none of them drafts while riding.
I'm a newbie cyclist so I can't tell if there are any reasons for why people here in our country don't practice drafting.
I mostly ride around Sta.Rosa-Tagaytay area so maybe my sample size is small. Do cyclist in other region drafts?
