Can i still get into government sector at 32

I am 32(m). I have engineering degree in mechanical engineering but emploeyed in IT sector and currently at senior position in a MNC. But I am currently fed up with the coporate culture and want a better stability and less uncertainty in my career. I want to switch to government sector, is it possible at this age? What are my options? I currently have a high paying job and I understand that the government job will not be able to match the same payscale, but I am ready to make that compromise for a better stability and less uncertainty.

Can someone genuinely advice me is it even practically possible in terms of the available options at this age.
