Pumping?
Hey, just looking for some advice RE pumping. I currently don’t pump at all and haven’t since my baby was around 6 weeks old, I tried it and found it painful even with different flange sizes and my baby has always fed great and haven’t had supply issues since early days so felt no need to continue.
I’ve decided I would like to start pumping once a day to try and store some milk in the freezer (will need to test for high lipase first) so that I can stop breastfeeding at 10 months if I want to, and have 2 months worth of frozen milk to last him and if there’s any spare, great. Baby is currently 3 months old. I plan to go to 1 year but with the sleep deprivation and baby currently gnawing me/comfort feeding all night I expect I may want to tap out early. Even if I know I only have to get to 10 months and then can transition to bottle fed breast milk I think it would help mentally. Who knows I may not want to stop! But would be nice to have the option.
Has anyone done this - and when would be the best time to pump? Baby’s feeds are fairly unpredictable at the moment we have just come out of the 3 month BF crisis. He is currently eating less during the day and instead eating all night long 🫠 I know my supply dips in the evening around 5-8pm.
Also wondering things like safe storage I feel like I’ve read so many different rules? I have the momcozy s12 wearables and I honestly have them but don’t have the budget to buy a new pump at the moment, any tips to make them more comfortable?? I feel like no matter what I try pumping hurts! Do I have to just get used to it? Totally clueless RE pumping so any tips would be helpful
