Why do men slutshame?

Hii ladies, on the day of Women's Day, I just wanted to post a little something.

A lot of men casually throw around comments like “she’s not girlfriend material,” “she’s probably got a whole roster,” or “I’d hook up with her but never date her,” as if a woman’s worth drops the moment she’s open about her sexuality. But if you actually pause and think about it, the same men saying this are often doing the exact same things they’re judging, dating around, hooking up, flirting with multiple people like a "whore" (since some of yall guys love calling women that without even knowing her) yet somehow expecting women to remain “pure” for them. It’s a weird double standard where men want the freedom to explore, but shame women for having that same freedom. And honestly, when a man slut-shames a woman, it doesn’t really make him look principled or “high value.” Most of the time it just reveals insecurity because if a woman choosing what she does with her own body threatens your ego that much, the problem isn’t her reputation, it’s your discomfort with not being the one in control.

For a lot of women, the frustration isn’t even about the insults anymore, it’s about the hypocrisy. The same men who laugh with their friends about hookups suddenly become moral judges when a woman has a past of her own. They want women who are confident, attractive, and desired by others BUT the moment that desire becomes real, they start policing it. And honestly, that contradiction is exhausting. A woman’s life, choices, and sexuality don’t exist to fit into some fragile male checklist of what’s “acceptable.”

If a man feels threatened by a woman who owns her choices, that’s not a reflection of her character, it’s a reflection of how uncomfortable HE is with women who DON'T need his 2 kaudi ki approval. And the truth a lot of men hate hearing is this: WOMEN AREN’T LIVING THEIR LIVES TO QUALIFY FOR SOMEONE’S “GIRLFRIEND OR WIFE MATERIAL” LABEL.
