Employee laughed and lied in my face, sent me out of the Restaurant after that

I had a pretty frustrating experience at a McDonald's today.

I went through the drive-thru and ordered several things, including a box of 20 McPlant Nuggets. When I got home, I noticed that they were not McPlant Nuggets but regular Chicken McNuggets. Since I’m vegetarian, I drove back to the restaurant to explain the situation and ask about it.

When I spoke to the employee at the counter (a middle-aged, heavier man), he immediately insisted that I had received McPlant Nuggets and started speaking to me in a very rude tone. He then opened my box, grabbed the nuggets with his bare hands, broke several of them apart and held them right in front of my face, claiming they were McPlant Nuggets. After that he threw the broken pieces back into the box.

When he briefly held one McPlant Nugget and one nugget from my box next to each other, the difference was actually very obvious. The nuggets from my order clearly had the fibrous chicken texture inside, while the McPlant one looked darker and more grainy. Even some of his coworkers seemed confused by what he was saying. Still, he kept insisting they were the same.

Even if they had actually been McPlant Nuggets, I would not have taken the box back after he had already handled the food with his bare hands, broken multiple nuggets and thrown them back in. That felt extremely disrespectful and unhygienic.

In the end I left the restaurant angry and without any solution. I did not receive a replacement order, a refund, or any kind of respectful treatment despite asking politely.

English is not my main language, I'm german, so I used AI to translate my text. Sorry if anything sounds strange.
