“So listen…”

The assistant was clearly nervous, looking at the new member of the team before looking back to the door as he keyed in the code. The door opened with a quiet sigh, ruffling the young man’s shoulder length hair as he continued speaking.

“The specimen in question has grown beyond expectation. It’s an animal at its core that much we can tell but beyond that it shows characteristics similar to that of an octopus or squid . It can tell we’re here, responds to external stimuli and… well you’ll see.”

Soon enough the pair had reached the main room of the lab, a glass wall separating the men and women walking about from the rest of the room in which the specimen rested.

Tendrils held it in place inside its side of the room, with several more hanging below, one of which raised and began to hover, seemingly looking at the new arrivals.

“There it is… specimen 31. Like I said, it's an animal in nature but it displays some traits of an octopus or squid. We keep it contained for our safety, it can spew… something that makes us pliable. Luckily we didn’t wait long to get it in proper containment. The last woman who wound up under its influence? She’s uh… not with us anymore.”

Scratching his neck the assistant looked up the new member before hurriedly moving away, leaving the new member to gaze upon the being that occupied the cage.

So this is the start of an rp in which a tentacle being breaks containment after a while in captivity, targeting the first scientist it sees and having its way.
