China city recommendations.

Hello everyone! I'm (M24) an experienced solo traveller with a basic level of Mandarin Chinese that's thinking about traveling to China for about a month for the first time.

I want to get to know as much as I can from the cultural diversity and the modern areas of the country. I'm already going to Beijing and Shanghai, probably Suzhou too. I want to learn from the Tibetan and Uyghur cultures if possible too (without getting the special permit for Tibet). I would be traveling by high speed rail mostly, but I'm not against flying.

My question is, which cities do you recommend with this in mind? I'm thinking of visiting Chongqing and also if Xi'An is worth it as I'm not really hyped with the warriors. I would want to escape the crowds as much as possible without missing anything too important.

Are Ürümqi and/or Dali (or similar for Tibetan vibes) doable? Are they interesting enough?
