So at this point in my Marvel reading and collecting, I’ve already mapped out what I’m getting this year with what’s been announced. Daredevil beyond the Zdarsky volumes was unthinkable given how much people were asking for it until I got offered a deal where I was able to get 7 Omnis (2 Bendis, 2 Brubaker, 2 Waid, & 1 Soule) on average below cover.

The only Marvel title I’ve ever really been itching to get was X-Men since I grew up reading those as singles. Managed to find good deals for the event titles (Pre-Mutant Massacre to Inferno) and Blue & Gold started so I’m quite pleased with what I have. I did want to get earlier Omnis (Claremont era) but when I started looking around I knew that, like Daredevil, the only way I was getting my hands on anything was if a reprint came or I’d get lucky again.

Well, luck came last Monday when the person I bought the Daredevil lot from offered me X-Men Vols. 4 & 5. Took a while for them to get back to me but as soon as they said $180 for both it was a no-brainer. I knew there’d be double-dips with Vol 5 and what I already had but it is what it is. I never considered these as my whales because I have this mindset where I’m not going to drive myself crazy more than I already have with my true whale (Legion of Super-Heroes Silver Age Omnibus Vol. 2). I’m just grateful that this seller offered it to me before listing it! Off to shelve these now!

Another uneXpected offer!
