Speeding ticket advice?

wondering whether or not anyone has had any luck contesting a ticket in maine. I have no points on my license no criminal record

On my way to work yesterday , early in the morning, I was pulled over going 15 over in a 25mph zone. I was the only one on the road and the cop was going the other way, banged a u turn to stop me. I was polite and explained to him I knew I left my house late for work, I knew I made a mistake. I know thats not a real defense but is it worth contesting?
