Zzz wireless

How to connect the G7 zzz controller to the Xbox using the charging station?

There's a slot on the bottom of the charging station for the wireless dongle, I assume the charging station can be plugged directly into the Xbox and act as a pass through to the receiver. When I tried that, the Xbox isn't talking with the controller. No issue if I plug the wireless dongle directly into the Xbox.

Am I missing something.
