Should I watch The False Songstress after finishing Macross Frontier

Just finished my first Macross series and really enjoyed it. I heard there are movie versions that are slightly different and have a different ending. Is it a good time investment to watch them now that I’ve finished the series? Or should I move on to Macross Delta or something? How different is the ending and does it give more closure to the love triangle vs the series ending?
