I've been experimenting with AI prompts to improve resumes while job searching.

Some prompts produced much better results than others.

Here are 5 that worked surprisingly well.

Prompt 1 — Resume Rewrite

Act as an expert resume writer specializing in ATS optimization. Rewrite my resume to align with the job description.

Prompt 2 — Achievement Builder

Rewrite my job duties into measurable achievements using numbers and impact.

Prompt 3 — ATS Keyword Extractor

Analyze the job description and identify the most important keywords for a resume.

Prompt 4 — Bullet Point Enhancer

Rewrite my resume bullet points using stronger action verbs and measurable results.

Prompt 5 — Interview Question Generator

Generate the 20 most likely interview questions for this job.

These prompts helped me produce much better resume drafts.

I actually ended up compiling about 75 prompts like this into a toolkit while testing things.
