Lamictal and increased REM sleep
So I started taking lamictal 2 weeks ago, for mood swings and depression, possible bipolar, now taking 150mg since 4 days. I have been sleeping the same amount as before but having vivid dreams which is a common side effect. However, while tracking my sleep I saw that my REM sleep went from 13-15% on seroquel in the evening, to 33-35% now with seroquel and 150mg lamictal. I feel this is too much and does anyone have the same problem? My sleep phases are also all much shorter, from having 8 distinct phases with usually 3 REM phases to 20 different phases and rapid switching from deep to light to REM. The REM sleep also has replaced the deep sleep which went down, light sleep has remained constant.
