AITA for wanting to be publicly posted from my partner when he doesn't want to? Please lend me your thoughts.
My boyfriend (19M) and I (20F) are going to be together for 6 months as of March.
I've been so happy with him and he does so much for me and I am grateful for the things he's done. An absolute gentleman, truly the best I could ever ask for.
Here's the catch, my way of showing affection is publicity whilst he is the opposite.
He never posts about me on his social medias and I've asked him multiple times about it. The answers are always no and his reasons are all valid and mature. He simply isn't comfortable with posting his partner. I accept them in the end. However, I do crave it from time to time and seeing my girl friends receiving something I want does not lessen it. What more when it's my male acquaintances whom are doing the posting. Comparison is indeed the thief of joy, I know this.
I just can't stop feeling like the asshole in this situation, I really want to be publicly shown off too. But then I wouldn't want to burden him by doing something he isn't comfortable with. Ah! It's killing me. And I keep mentioning this topic to him, way more than it should because of how small of a matter it really is. I feel like an asshole because in a sense, I cannot understand him and why does he not want to post me when in fact, he has told me a lot of times and I understand them.
Gosh, I feel so immature. Please lend me your thoughts
P.S: I'd like to add that he used to post his past relationship a lot on social media, Instagram specifically. So yeah this is also adding up to my dilemma
