Should I just quit trying to build businesses?

I've been trying and building different business ideas. I first started with sourcing fresh bakery produce and selling it to other students back at uni. I've moved on to building a website and a web app, one of which I sold, but of late, with all these buzzwords, it's very hard to build something and sell it or get customers. How are you guys getting customers? Are you targetting locally or do you build online like me?
