Best workflow for sending a single frame from Resolve (S-Log3 / S-Gamut3.Cine) to Photoshop and back without losing color or bit depth?

Help

I’m working in DaVinci Resolve with a timeline color management setup, using footage from a Sony FX6 (S-Log3 / Sgamut3 Cine, 10-bit) the timeline has davichi wide gamut and then out to rec709

For one shot I need to export a single frame, fix something in Photoshop (clone/ heal etc ), and bring it back into Fusion to comp over the original footage and then grade the comp.

here is what I did:

*Grabbed a still from Resolve

*Exported it as PNG

*Opened it in Photoshop

*Did the cloning, healing work

* Brought it back into Resolve

But I realized PNG is only 8-bit, so I’m losing precision compared to the original 10-bit log footagePhotoshop opened the image as “Untagged profile”, so the color space information seems lost?

What would be the best workflow to preserve as much image information as possible when sending a frame to Photoshop and bringing it back to Resolve/Fusion?
