TLDR: I have problems breathing by nose, since I was an infant, underwent septoplasty and nothing changed, I've talked with like 10 doctors about taht problem during my life and all of them suggested the septoplasty, no one ever told me what problem I actually have. Im looking for help to get my problem correctly diagnosed.

I had this problem since like the 8yo (now im 42). I probably have that since I've born but the earliest I can remind of it is 8yo, a talk with my mother during my cousin's Septoplasty recovery, she said id have to do the same someday due my problems breathing by nose. My nasal breathing feels like its always fluctuating between 20 and 40% of capacity; whenever I use some of those nasal strips the breathing improves like 10%. I think I breath just fine by my mouth.

After getting adult I started talking to ENT doctors to see what was up with my nose. All of them asked for image image exams that showed very minor deviated nasal septum, theiy look inside with an optic fiber camera and some of them ask me to use a nasal spray for like 30 days (that changed nothing at all with my nasal breathing) and bring some feedback back.

After all every one tells me the same thing: lets make a Septoplasty, remove the Tonsils and some of them wanted to do something to help with snorting (i was pretty fat back then, had some relevant snorting but it wasnt the cause for me to search the doctors; I just wanted to breath well).

The interesting thing here is that before the visual inspection with the fiber optical camera they spray something in my nose and when they do that.... It feels like heaven: feels like I have 2 industrial wind tunnels attached to my face. Its amazing, to the point such giant air flow start burning my nose internals if the indoor temperature is too low. After a couple of minutes everything goes back to normal, 20-50% air flow.

So it was very strange when after relating to the doctors what happens when they spray whatever taht was, they come up with the "lets make a Septoplasty and take your tonsils off". I ended up postponning this thing indefinitively because all 5 doctors I talked with proposed the same thing, that obviously wasnt the cause of my problems: the nasal spray they were using werent moving the bones of my skull for the air to pass freely...

Time went by and by 2016 I decided to try and fix this problem again, talked to 3 doctors and guess what, they all suggested the same. I was really bad at the time and really needed some improvement in my health, so I decided to make only the septoplasty and see what would happen. And it just went as expected, it changed nothing.

And now I have this problem for 40 years and counting, and I dont even know what it is. Id like some suggestions on how to diagnose this damn thing.

some info that may be relevant: I had Asthma during my whole infancy and early young hood. My dentists tell me the "roof" of my mouth is very deep/high, and that kind of shape indicates that a person had respiratory problems during infancy. I've tried one of those respiratory products that help breathing during sleep, usually used by people with sleep apnea. I coud not breath using it because I could not to breath out, the extra pressure of the air being pushed into my nose made it impossible for the the air in the lungs to leave.
