Claim from 3 months ago

Hello! In december last year I was in a fender bender at a Starbucks drive through. The other person put their foot of the break and bumped into me. I got their insurance info as my bumper cracked a bit. I haven't been able to file the claim due to work and other obligations but plan on filing it this week. Should I let the other person know as a courtesy, I still have his number from when he texted the info.
