Women taking their husband's name after marriage

While I don't question a woman's personal choices, for someone who entered a supposed hate-marriage, why is she suddenly Veena Advay Singh Rathore.

Like any book I've read, no matter how the women are written why is their identity and even strength wrapped around their husbands in one way or the other.

The husband hates the girl, but one day he be like " Don't you talk to me like this Anvesha Yuvaan Awasthi." I don't find it sexy at all.

Are women in fiction just a pathway to make readers faun over the male leads??
