Is Intellipaat School of Technology (IST) a good choice for B.Tech CSE?

💬 Discussion

Been around the tech industry for quite some time and recently looked into Intellipaat School of Technology (IST) while exploring some of the newer engineering models coming up in India. The structure felt noticeably different from the typical B.Tech programs most colleges still run.

Instead of the usual theory-heavy first years, IST seems to be built more around software engineering, AI, coding practice and project based learning much earlier in the program. There is also clear emphasis on building real projects, working with modern tech stacks and maintaining GitHub portfolios, which is something the industry actually values today.

Another thing noticed is the involvement of industry mentors and a curriculum that looks more aligned with current tech roles, rather than the outdated syllabus many traditional colleges still follow. That direction honestly makes more sense considering how fast the software industry is evolving.

Overall the model looks quite interesting and more practical compared to many conventional engineering programs. If executed properly, programs like IST could actually bridge the gap between engineering education and real software industry expectations.
