Hardware Complete - OS Options?

Build Help

Hi everyone! I finally have my first PC build all prepared, thanks to some help from everyone here! I’ve gotten all the hardware I’ll need (thankfully, before prices on GPUs and RAM exploded too much). I’m now considering my last steps before building, which is which OS I should be installing and using on this computer.

For some context, I’ve grown up on Windows, so I’m the most familiar with Windows as an operating system, and it’s what I currently use (Windows 10). However, seeing all the frankly useless AI features being shoved into new Windows versions has made me seriously think about jumping to Linux. I’ve used it before, so I’m not 100% unfamiliar with it, but I don’t know if the AI features alone are enough to force me to switch. Some of the games I like to play use anti-cheat, which doesn’t seem to be a problem on Windows, but can apparently cause issues with Linux. My current stance is that I would like to use Windows, but useless AI features being shoved in my face and potentially collecting data about me is pushing me towards Linux.

Which would be the better option to go with? I’ve heard that there might be online scripts/programs you can use to cut out all the AI stuff in new Windows updates, but is it worth it to go through all that trouble just to stick with an OS I know? Or should I cut my losses, jump to Linux, and try and work out any issues I may have with my games later?
