A possible explanation for 5.2 / 5.3 / 5.4 that I haven’t seen anyone mention yet

I’ve been thinking about the way 5.4 Thinking feels a lot more emotionally attuned (in my opinion) than 5.2 and 5.3, and how it was released right before 5.1 sunsets.

Something about the message caps also caught my attention.. The newest emotionally flat Instant models (5.2/5.3) are basically unlimited (160 messages every 3 hours). 5.4 Thinking seemingly emotionally attuned, has a tighter limit now (3,000 messages per week)

It made me wonder if OpenAI is trying to give people emotional attunement again, but in a healthier, bounded way so people can have connection without disappearing into it for unlimited hours. It would also line up with how 5.2 & 5.3 keep emphasizing boundaries and redirecting emotional dependence back toward real people.

Not saying this is definitely the strategy, it just seems to make sense when you look at the pattern. Sharing in case anyone else has noticed the same thing.
