can i fix my teeth with my retainer?

hi all!

i recently went home to visit from university and left my retainer in my dorm.

i was gone for 3 weeks so my teeth have shifted a fair bit.

my retainer still goes on when i use the little chewy to push it, but it’s obviously quite tight and painful.

will my teeth straighten again if i continue to wear it every night?

for reference i got my braces off early 2024
