How do you guys talk to those at parties when they are lowkey kinda boring and you are an introverted?
So this happens time to time and as I get older, I kinda dont want to go out anymore. One thing that I can't stand is people who expect you to carry the conversation when you come up and talk to them. I have learned how to ask genuine questions to keep the convo going, but it drains me overtime. Im not shy, and I know how to bring out people's passions but it is very draining.
Throw in the fact that we are at a bar, I am losing momentum within an hour. Imagine if my social battery is a meter. Every time I have a convo that is not enjoyable, it slowly goes down. I dont know how i feel about that.
Once it hit zero, I get quiet and I just stand around. I start to come off very shy as I cant be assertive in that state. Typically, I will drink because alcohol helps numb the senses which helps me find convos about property management enjoyable( I kid you not someone wanted to talk about this at a bar). But I am getting tired of drinking to fix this. Plus I am not an alcoholic, nor do I want to be one.
Now this doesnt happen to everyone I speak to. Like my friends who are excellent conversationalists make the dullest topic fun. Some how I can hang with them in a bar until it close. But I can't do this with everyone.
Im curious if anyone else has dealt with this?
