Intervene or leave alone? Pigeon in my flock with very dirty muffs
There's a pigeon in my feral flock which has pronounced muffs, moreso than all the others. The feathers go all the way down his feet. Lately his muffs have been extremely dirty, they're always wet and brown - presumably muddy (I live in the Pacific Northwest, rains a lot) but sometimes I worry if it's blood since I remember reading that pigeons with muffs can be prone to breaking feathers there. I don't think I've ever seen his muffs completely clean and it makes me so sad. Should I do something or should I just leave him be? I want what's best for him (: he loves eating from my hand.
