A Joke About Candy and Ants

When I was a child My parents told me about all the candy we had inside the fridge But they didn't let me eat it. They told me that if I opened the fridge, The ants would come and take it away. So I didn't open it.

In my teens, I stared at the closed fridge. I could still feel the sweet smell of diabetes that I oh-so craved. But if the ants came, I would only taste disappointment.

As an adult, The sugar from the apples my family gifts me Is not enough to give me the cavities I want. At least there are no greedy ants in sight. Just the thought of them Makes my stomach hurl.

My parents came over yesterday. They gagged as they walked through the door And asked what that smell was. I told them it was probably all the candy in the fridge. But I never looked inside.

They told me to open the fridge. I opened it. It was empty. I guess the ants found a way inside.
