Painful 4 mos after stitches

4 mos ago I had my daughter. After birth they gave me stitches. Since her birth i cant even use a light tampon because its so painful. I am also unable to be intimate with my husband. Is this normal? Theres no chance he requested a husband stitch or anything like that. I might go to the doctor this summer. Most moms i know say by their 6 week appointment they were ready for intimacy. But due to the pain I have even my husband touching me in bed makes me scared of the pain and start crying knowing I cant be intimate with him rn.
