Fabry Disease Day in Brussels – Free event on March 28, open to patients, families and healthcare professionals

Fabry Disease Day in Brussels

In April, Fabry Awareness Month brings attention to a rare inherited metabolic condition that still goes undiagnosed for years in many patients. This year, MetabERN and the Antwerp University Hospital (UZA) are marking the occasion a few days early with a full-day event in Brussels on March 28, 2026.

The programme covers clinical perspectives on cardiac and renal involvement, patient follow-up, and home support tools — with international experts including Dr. Uma Ramaswami (Royal Free Hospital) and Dr. Valentine Gillion (Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc) among the speakers.

What makes this event a little different from a standard medical conference: there are also interactive workshops, including a Fabry family tree builder and a board game designed to explain the disease. Sessions will be held in multiple languages, with translation provided where possible.

Attendance is free. Registration is required.
