Schengen visa one entry or multiple?

My Nigerian boyfriend wants to visit me in Germany for his annual leave. As we prepare for apllication here is my question: is it possible for him to go to Denmark with me for 2 days during his 3 week stay? Does he need a multiple entry Schengen or does one entry suffice?
