SIS Management

Question

I’ve been in a Sams SIS for a little over a year now, and wanted to see if it’s worth looking for a Costco or neighborhood store to transfer to or if I should leave all together. I know the majority thinks SIS is cake and when I first started I would have agreed but now not so much but still not sure if it’s SIS that went downhill or just my manager. When I first started we were getting 40hrs/ week plus 100% commission it was unbeatable. Since then we had a different manager take over who immediately cut out hours to 29hrs/ week and down to 20hrs if your performance metric isn’t .20 or better. I averaged 40 activations q4 last month and after a slow month in January my hours got chopped. Also no leniency on time off request of if you’re running late, she (manager) says we have no grace period, if we are a minute late we are late and she will note it in our workday, even tho she is constantly 10-15 minutes late. She requires us to stand at the kiosk the entire shift no walking around just to stretch your legs, we had a chair to periodically take a seat which she took and told us to buy better shoes if we’re having problems standing. She also wants us to hound EVERY customer that walks by and will give us a pip if someone walks by that we don’t talk to, which I understand we are in a sales business but I think it’s a bad look when we’re shouting at everyone who walks by. Some of the regulars will even avoid walking buy us all together. Maybe I’m tripping but is this normal SIS management behavior?
