Ryobi 36V/40V mower not cutting properly what am I doing wrong?

Every time I cut my lawn the mower leaves a trail of grass and doesn't seem to cut properly.
It happens with dry grass or damp grass. I'm thinking my mower is stuffed or the battery doesn't have enough power to cut.
Does anyone have any ideas of what's wrong?
