[Help] MyJio -> GPay AutoPay: Why can’t I switch the mandate from Bank Account to Credit Card?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to automate my JioFiber bill payments using Google Pay (GPay) via the MyJio app, but I’ve hit a wall regarding the payment source.

The Setup:

• Service: JioFiber Postpaid.
• Flow: MyJio App -> Set up AutoPay -> UPI (Google Pay).
• Payment Methods in GPay: I have a linked HDFC Bank account and two Credit Cards (HDFC and ICICI) saved for regular payments.

The Problem:

1. I initiate the AutoPay setup in MyJio and get the request in GPay.
2. In GPay, the only available payment source is my HDFC Bank Account.
3. When I click to change the payment method, both of my Credit Cards are missing/greyed out. It seems GPay is forcing the mandate to a bank account.

The Question: Is it currently impossible to set up a UPI AutoPay mandate using a Credit Card (Visa/Mastercard) in India? I use these cards for normal UPI transactions all the time, so why are they restricted for recurring mandates?

If anyone has a workaround to get JioFiber AutoPay directly on a Credit Card (without it hitting the bank account), please let me know!
