More than 7 years between steps, can I train in the US?
Hi all,
I'm finishing IM residency going into cardiology. Many graduates in my program go on to complete advanced fellowships in the US (interventional, EP, HF etc)
I stupidly passed both parts of step 2 back in 2018, but got distracted by life, covid etc and didn't do step 1 or 3. Meaning it's been more than 7 years since I've passed step 2 and I haven't completed the ecfmg certification within 7 years.
Are my chances of practicing in the US gone? Has anyone here been in my position and managed to train and practice in the US? For what it's worth I have no problem retaking step 2
