13 Years of Solitude
13 years ago I made several bad decisions. My wife and kids left me, my friends disappeared, my siblings disowned me, and I spent 16 months in jail. Since my release, I've had to start over several times, lost jobs, struggled with homelessness and hopelessness, PTSD from the incarceration, depression and anxiety, and loneliness.
I just recently started a new job, in which I work and go home to an empty one bedroom shared accommodation apartment. I hate people, and can't come up with the energy to start new relationships. I simply exist to pay child support and to have food/shelter. I tell myself that this is enough, but the loneliness and emptiness of my life is driving me mad. I'm seeking motivation and purpose. This has helped before in keeping me going, but I can't seem to find either. What keeps you moving forward?
