How Can I (14m) Properly Become A Member

PS: I’m sorry if I accidentally refer to the church as Mormonism or by a wrong term a couple times it’s a bad habit and I apologise in advance if I do.

For some context I live in the English heartland in a village. My father’s family a non-practicing Methodists and my mother’s are non-practicing catholics. Me and my brother were baptised as Anglican though.

I have recently considered joining the Mormon church after hearing lots about it and I find it has great values and probably one of the only denominations of Christianity left that is still pure. Though some parts of the Book of Mormon are slightly confusing and open to interpretation so are some parts of the Bible. I also love the sense of community in the LDS church and for all these reasons I want to join the church and even have ideas of moving to Utah as it is the epicentre of the LDS church.

The Problem is I assume that my parents will not be happy or support me ’coming out’ per se as an LDS member. And that it would be a struggle for me to take myself to the closest LDS temple as I can not get a license till I’m 17 (age in UK for liscense) and the only other option is cycling but this Temple is in the closest town which has quite a lot of busy roads and I do not consider myself a cyclist. Also I feel like my parents do quite shelter me and my brother compared to other people my age.

I also would like to be able to talk to other LDS members ( preferably around my age) to get to know from them what it’s like being Mormon

So since I cannot really do anything to visit a temple another idea I had is encompass LDS into my daily life. But I don’t even know where to start I don’t even have a Book of Mormon or proper bible (I have a children’s one which is more of a storytelling book with pictures than an actually Bible). So i was wondering if i could get any help in my dilemma. Any advice from encompassing LDS into my Daily life to being able to talk to other LDS members, thank you.
