Looking for Ontario hospital patient/family experiences for journalism project
Hi! I’m a journalism student working on a research project about patient dignity, hospital care, and system pressures in Ontario healthcare. I’m looking to hear from:
- Patients
- family caregivers
- hospital staff
about experiences involving:
- long wait times
- Overcrowding
- rushed care
- lack of bedside support
- communication breakdowns
- ICU/hospital experiences
- situations where families had to step in because care wasn’t available
This project is system-focused, not blame-focused instead, it’s about how structures, staffing, and capacity affect care. Boundaries & ethics:
- Participation is optional
- Anonymity is available
- You control what you share
- No identifying info will be used without consent
- This is not sensational journalism
- Trauma-aware, ethical reporting standards
How to respond: If you’re open to participating, please DM me with:
- Who you are (patient/family/staff)
- General description of experience
Preferred contact method: No pressure, even short messages help shape the research.
Thank you for reading.
