The sitcom, is it similar to The Black Lodge?

Opinion

I don’t know how many of you are Twin Peaks fans, but being a fan of David Lynch and Mark Frost’s Twin Peaks (and especially Lynch’s The Return), I couldn’t help but draw parallels almost between the dimensions of The Sitcom and The Black Lodge. Slight spoilers for Twin Peaks + The Return beyond this point, plus spoilers for the story ofc.

The parallels are thin, but I like to think they function sort of similar. The black lodge is a place out of time, inhabited by the incarnations of violence and chaos and the evil that mankind does. Time doesn’t work, the people speak backwards and forwards, music drifts in and out. Nobody you see in there is someone you know, even if you know them. The curtained hallways stretch on, l

The Sitcom has to be one of my favorite settings of a Creepcast story. It felt beyond bizarre, and it morphs from just "woahhh I’m in a cooks situation" to a really very unnerving and weird realm. Because it goes from being a sitcom to not being that at all. Other than the laughter and cheers, it relinquishes itself of the familiar aspects. It’s somewhere wholly different and frightening. And possibly evil.

The Black Lodge is entered with a key of great fear, and I like Isiah’s idea that The Sitcom is entered through suicide or self harm. Depression is a bizarre and scary and irrational thing, and both of these realms I’m comparing are bizarre and scary and irrational things.

The Sitcom isn’t supposed to make sense or be plotted and tracked, I think it is entered through great upset. Whether that be suicide or murder, I don’t really know, but it definitely seems like a place beyond space and beyond time, beyond anything that really makes sense.

Such a good story. Love this one
