"Rural ridings are being sacrificed for the needs of urban people" - Do these people not know that they vote for this every time?

I keep seeing people who are against the Alto HSR keep repeating the same talking point - that the needs of rural people are sacrified for the needs of urban people.

But if you live in a rural riding in Ontario, you're voting for exactly this. Your hospitals are closed for shortages, you have no family doctors, your highways are responsible for hundreds of fatal head-on collisions every year and for what? So that your tax dollars go to the premier of Toronto and his plans to build a new tunnel under the 401, a shiny new convention center, a brand new spa?

Do people who live in these riding and vote conservative not know they exist solely to sacrifice their quality of life so that I can go to a new spa?
