Paid Companionship

Hi Reddit, I have been looking to have some penpal friends to talk to, I really enjoy conversing.

I am postpartum and just having a hard time with life and loneliness. One of the biggest problems right now is being physically disabled, so it is affecting me financially with work (my work is physical). Obviously finding a new job and working would be hard with a newborn baby, and expensive so any job I potentially get needs to be able to cover what I need it to. My field is relatively specific and although I make a lot of money, I need to be there and be physical… which I cannot do.

A friend of mine suggested I get a job talking to people who also want someone to talk to but I didn’t think these “jobs” existed. Turns out there’s sites for this. My problem is that I don’t want to seem disingenuous because it is technically a transaction. I really love talking to people and would do it for free, but I definitely could use some money right now. I would be willing to text, talk on the phone, play games, etc., it would just be nice to have someone to talk and hopefully we could be friends with the added benefit of making some money.

is this something anyone would be interested in? I truly have good intentions and just want to gauge what people think. I don’t know, I guess be gentle if you’re able with your advice. Thank you 🥹
