Can someone offer context about Allison’s recent choices? I feel like I’m missing something.

I’m a long-time listener of the pod but I truly feel like I missed something when it comes to Em and Allison’s relationship over the last year or so.

To my understanding, Allison saddled Em with a puppy they didn’t want and then fucked off to the East Coast for a full-time nannying job. Then she was supposed to return in August 2025 but for reasons unknown to me elected to stay longer, and only just now returned in February 2026.

Like…what am I missing? Is there any good reason Allison would’ve done this? It feels like a cruel thing to have done to Em - especially the part where she brought home a puppy that Em didn’t want and then left Em to manage the puppy phase completely on their own. And then delaying her return by 6-7 months? Genuinely what the hell. I cannot fathom it.
