I’ve been learning Mandarin for a few years and kept running into the same problem: flashcard apps work well at first, but after a few weeks the review queue explodes and motivation drops.

So I built **Moya Chinese**, an iOS app focused on making daily vocabulary study feel calm and sustainable.

The core idea is simple: **consistency should feel rewarding**, not stressful. Each day you complete your reviews, your bamboo plant grows and you unlock small decorations for your study room.

A few things I tried to do differently:

• **Pre-curated vocabulary by HSK level** so you can start immediately
• **Spaced repetition scheduling** without huge review backlogs
• **Multiple study modes** (listening, pinyin typing, radical completion, sentence fill-in-the-blank)
• **Short sessions (5–10 cards)** designed for daily habit building
• **Works offline and no account required**

I launched it recently and would love feedback from other iOS users. It is free, with an optional $1.99 / month upgrade that unlocks some additional study modes, a faster learning pace, and some bonus items. No ads either way.

Happy to answer questions about the design, spaced repetition system, or how the app was built.
