I’m too autistic to attract the ladies
A little story time here, I have been consistently autistic my entire life. I’ve liked really weird stuff as a kid, entirely out of the scope of normality, and that’s kind of when I realized I was somehow a little different.
I notice this with my friends too, as they treat me differently than other people and usually I need to speak first before they talk to me, but this isn’t about friends it’s about dating.
It really struck me when I was at a skiing trip with my friends and we were talking to this group of girls, and I thought I was making good conversation with this one girl. I was asking her the usual small talk stuff when my friend came over and started talking to her and she immediately just switched over to him 😭
The way he was able to effortlessly make conversation with someone was so impressive to me, I had no idea how he could just pull random topics out of nowhere without making it awkward. It was beyond me.
And I’m not ugly either, at least I hope not. I’m pretty average in height, my physic is decent, and my face card and not half bad, but the talking part really messes with me for some reason.
All my previous relationships have noted how weird I was. I just have a lot of interests in hobbies, like drawing, snowboarding, writing, film, running, anime, but then I have the weirder stuff too like collecting too many records and action figures, and I definitely have too many legos for an adult. And when I’m social settings, I’m either energetic and loud or I’m completely reserved and quiet, very little in between.
Ultimately I think because of how I act and my interests I can come off as childish. I’m not too sure. It kind of sucks though, sometimes I feel like an alien trying to be a person, you know. Maybe one day I could meet an Autistic girl, or someone who can put up with my bs, anyway.
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
