Trump is a grown man with immense almost unfathomable power. He is 100% responsible for the decisions he makes.

There’s a tendency to infantilize Trump or to act as if Israel is blackmailing Trump (especially in rightwing circles). And that is functionally no different to the liberal conspiracies about Russia blackmailing Trump.

SCOTUS has given Trump immense power. He can order the killing of anyone and everyone who would have blackmail on him. He has the American military at his beck and call. Who has any substantial actually scary leverage if any over him?

Trump is responsible for the decisions he makes. He has final say on all of this. There is no Nethanyahu mind control here. There is no secret deep state forcing Trump to invade Iran.

He’s doing it because he wants to. He’s doing it because he stands to gain more control over domestic elections during war time. He’s doing it because he wants to.
