A while ago I did part of a novel trilogy rewrite, trying to make robot Charlie work within the game continuity. The premise was that instead of her being an agony doll who wasn’t even the real Charlie, she was actually possessed by Charlotte because she was made with the Puppet endoskeleton. Here’s the scene I wrote, enjoy!

“S…A…V…E…H…I…M…” Those letters kept playing in her mind. Charlie knew Sammy was in trouble. The bracelet told her so. “S…A… Wait… V… bracelet?.. E… what does the bracelet have to do with it?… H…” Again she tried to lift the lid, but to no avail. “I… Oh what’s the point? It’s just a dream. It won’t change anything.” She wanted to give up “M…” but Sammy’s bracelet wouldn’t let her. She gave one final heave with all the energy she had. At last the lid lifted free! Charlie jumped out of the box.

She ran over to the door and burst out into the pouring rain. Sammy was nowhere to be seen. She was too late.

She looked down and saw Ella lying on the ground. She was soaking wet. “That’s new.”

“S…” the bracelet called to her again. Despite the kidnappers tire tracks fleeing the scene, the bracelet was still close by. “A…” She hurried in the direction it was calling her from, but the strings held her back. “V…” The rain felt like fire, and her joints began locking up. “E…” The wetter she became the harder it was to walk. “H…” Eventually she couldn’t even stand. “I…” She fell to the ground with a splash. “M…” Charlie could see a child lying still next to some trash cans. “Sammy!” She crawled over to him as fast as her frozen joints would let her. She turned the lifeless child over expecting to see Sammy, but it wasn’t him. “It’s… me?”

Henry found her body lying behind Fredbear’s Diner, and like in the books, he refused to believe she was dead. But this time it was because of the Puppet animatronic. It was never waterproofed so it was heavily damaged due to the rain. It should have been completely destroyed, but for some reason its eyes were still glowing. They were white instead of the usual green, and they seemed to follow him. The black tears running down its cheeks also set him off. Eventually he came to the conclusion that the animatronic was possessed by Charlotte. He took her home, both versions of her. If he wanted Charlie to stay real and not be taken away, he would have to keep the fact that she had been stabbed a secret.

I guess he preserved her body somehow to use as a reference to build her a new one. He removed the Puppet’s endoskeleton and reformed it to be her new skeleton. Functionally, the rest of her was like the novels. She could eat, breathe, bleed, etc. She wouldn’t ever need to charge because the remnant infinitely powered her. He created the lie that was Sammy, and rewrote her memories (he could do that because robot) to include him. He made up that Sammy was kidnapped instead of her being murdered.

At first Henry kept her to himself, but eventually he would have to tell his wife, who refused to believe that this robot was Charlie, and refused to pretend that Sammy had been real. She left him.

The Puppet was too big to use its entire skeleton in a 3 year old child, so the rest of her would be stored away to be added as she got older. The more Puppet metal she had, the more she remembered from the Puppet POV. She started having dreams of its memories. The most notable being the recurring one you just read, based off the Puppet minigame from fnaf 6.

She was always wearing the same striped bodysuit with three fingered gloves on each hand, and had strings attached to her as if she was a string Puppet. She was trapped in her Puppet box by the presents on the lid, always finally getting the lid off just in time to be too late. Sammy’s kidnapper outside had already left. Over time the guise of Sammy started to wither away and the dream more accurately portrayed the Puppets efforts to save her. The addition of the security bracelet, Ella, and discovery of herself dead wouldn’t all happen in a single dream as I wrote there, the pieces would be added one by one across multiple dreams.

Eventually she would discover the truth and… I’m not really sure where to go from there.

Shortly after he told his wife, Henry also told his best friend and partner, William Afton. Obviously that was a big mistake as William was actually the one who killed her in a drunken rage, but Henry didn’t know that. William thought he had been hallucinating because he remembered murdering Charlie, yet there she stood. But then Henry came to him one day and told him about Charlie and the security puppet. “Ah” he thought. “So I guess I did kill her then.” The discovery of remnant and possessed animatronics would lead him on his murder spree.

The bite of ’83 was staged by William. William (as Spring Bonnie) told Michael’s buddies they should suggest Fredbear’s “big kiss”. If they were the ones who told Michael, he couldn’t suspect William. Nobody believed them when they said it was Bonnie who told them to do it. Michael was convinced that it was entirely his fault. He was guilt-tripped into helping William catch children to replicate Henry’s experiment and put his brother back together.

Also ahe springlock technology was intentionally made more dangerous to experiment with adults.

There’s also this more comedic version of William finding out about Charlie that I wrote at some point:

Charlie ripped out her corpse’s skeleton and climbed inside. Luckily her remnant would keep her from rotting a little while, at least until Henry could build her a new body. He could do that right?

Henry would just have to tell the police that the blood and skeleton belonged to her “brother Sammy” who they had never met before.

Police “But…this is a female skeleton”

Henry “Oh… well… you never can tell with kids!”

Police “…”

William was certain he had only stabbed the child; not ripped her entire skeleton out. Though he *was* drunk last night. He just hoped he hadn’t unknowingly put the rest of her body into his trunk and spoiled the new carpet.

Just then Henry arrived. He was obviously shaken, which was understandable given who William had killed last night. Next to him stood Charlie with a blank expression on her face. “Wait… Charlie?” He thought. William looked back to the child’s skeleton lying in a puddle of blood. “Then who the hell is that??” He looked back to Charlie, dumbfounded. Her eyes had locked onto him. They almost seemed to glow.

“Look William, I know you killed Sammy!”

“Who the hell is Sammy?”

“Charlie’s twin sister. Samantha.”

“Since when have you had two children?!”

“That’s beside the point. I know it was you cause she saw everything!” Henry motioned to Charlie who said nothing. She just sat there, still with glowing eyes and a dead expression.
