Travelling to Japan as a minor

I am going to be travelling with my friends who are all 18 but I will not be 18 until I fly back. Alaskan airlines states on their website that it is not possible to fly unaccompanied as a minor to Japan. I was wondering if with a notarized letter of consent for one of my friends could act as my legal guardian for the trip.
