Part Exchange PCP Plan - sensible or not?
I have a 71 plate Ford Focus St-Line X with loads of packs/extras included which is on a 4 year PCP deal ending imminently
Originally I was planning on getting a bank loan to pay off the balloon payment (£8,900 approx) but now not so sure I want to keep it
Have now been thinking about still getting the loan at 6.2% APR as planned originally but using the loan towards a deposit (possibly £8-10k) in addition to the positive equity in the car (circa £1.5k maybe more) and then getting something like a 23/24/25 plate Kia EV6 st line s. Had some quotes for a 23/24 plate (pre facelift) at around £215 per month on a 36 month PCP at around 11.9% (high, I know)
Would mean ive got the loan repayments plus the monthlies on the PCP but figure I'd save with an electric car over fuel
Any thoughts? Is this a good/bad idea?
